Privacy Policy
Last updated October 29, 2026
The Designer Studio (thedesignerstudio.app) is a workspace for model-home interior design firms: projects, design boards, space planning, presentations, ARRs and ordering. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to everyone who signs in to the studio.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, work email and the firm you belong to, from the Microsoft, Google or email sign-in you choose.
- Your firm’s work: the projects, builder plans, presentations, ARRs, selections, orders and notes you and your team add or import.
- Linked tools (only if you link them): access to your Microsoft 365 or Google account, and a link to the AutoCAD connector on your PC. Details below.
- Basic usage data: sign-in times and error logs we need to keep the service running and secure.
Linked Google and Microsoft accounts
Linking is optional, done by you on the Linked tools page, and can be undone there at any time. When you link an account we ask only for what the studio features need:
- Google Drive, Sheets and Slides: to read model folders, builder plans, decks and ARR sheets so new projects fill themselves in, to keep ARR sheets in sync with the studio, and to save presentations back to the model’s folder.
- Gmail: to read vendor order, shipping and tracking emails and file them on the right project, and to prepare draft emails (for example, questions for a builder or a warehouse copy). Nothing is sent unless you press Send.
- Google Calendar: to add install dates and site visits to your calendar.
- Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Calendar, OneDrive and SharePoint): the same uses as above, for firms that work in Microsoft 365.
The access tokens for linked accounts are encrypted and stored on our servers only; they are never sent to your browser. We read only what a feature you use needs, and we keep only what becomes part of your firm’s project (for example, a tracking number filed on an ARR line, or a plan saved to a project).
Google API data. The Designer Studio’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, we do not sell Google user data, do not use it for advertising, do not use it to train generalized AI or machine-learning models, and do not let people read it except with your permission, for security, to comply with the law, or when it is part of the work your firm shares in the studio.
AI features
The studio’s AI staff (for example, designers that suggest products and a coordinator that reads builder files) process your firm’s project data to do that work. That processing may use AI providers acting on our behalf under agreements that don’t allow them to train their models on your data. We don’t use your data, or data from your linked accounts, to train generalized models.
How we use it
- To run the studio for your firm: projects, design, presentations, ARRs, orders and the features you turn on.
- To keep the service secure, fix problems and answer support requests.
- To tell you about changes to the service or this policy.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see it
- Your firm: project data is visible to members of your firm. Each firm’s data is kept separate from every other firm’s.
- People you share with: for example, a builder you send a presentation to, or a vendor or warehouse you email.
- Service providers: hosting, database and storage (Vercel, Supabase), email delivery and AI providers, only to run the service and under confidentiality obligations.
- The law: when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep your firm’s data while your firm uses the studio. Unlinking a Google or Microsoft account deletes our stored tokens for it right away (you can also remove access from your Google or Microsoft account settings). To delete your account or your firm’s data, email us at the address below; we delete it within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep a record.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited by firm, linked-account tokens are encrypted again by the application, and only signed-in members of a firm can see that firm’s files.
Children
The studio is a business tool and is not meant for anyone under 18.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy we’ll update the date above and, for meaningful changes, tell you in the studio. Questions or requests: ubs.order@gmail.com.
